How a rink gets listed

Find the rink

Google Places tells us which rinks exist and gives us the address of each rink's own website. That is the only thing we use it for.

Read its schedule

We open the rink's own site and read the public session times off it. If there is no readable schedule, the rink gets a row on its state page and no page of its own.

Re-check weekly

Every schedule is re-read once a week and stamped with the date. A schedule we cannot re-verify for 30 days keeps its times under a dated warning.

Are these times accurate today?
They are as accurate as the rink’s own website was on the date printed on the page. Every listing shows the date we last read it and links to the exact page we read it from, so you can check the source in one click. We re-read every schedule weekly. A rink that changes its hours without updating its own site will be wrong here too, which is why every page says to confirm before you drive.
Why do some rinks have no page here?
Because they publish no schedule we can read. A rink only gets a page on this site if it has real session times behind it. The rest appear as a row on their state page with a link to their own website. A page that says "times not yet confirmed" is worse than no page, so we do not make one.
What does "open now" actually mean?
That a public skating session is running at this moment, in the rink’s own time zone. It is not the same as the building being open. Google shows you facility hours, which include private parties, lessons and league bookings you cannot skate at. This site only counts sessions the public can turn up to.
Do you show ratings or reviews?
No, and we never will. This site publishes one kind of fact: when public sessions run, sourced from the rink itself. Ratings belong to the platforms that collected them.
There are five rinks called Skateland. Which one is mine?
Every listing carries its city and state in the title, the URL and the search results, so the five Skatelands never collide. Search by city rather than by name if you are unsure.
How much does public skating cost?
Where a rink publishes a price for a session, it is in the price column of that rink’s table. Many rinks publish times without prices, and in that case the column is left out rather than filled with a guess. Skate rental is usually extra and is rarely published.
A time on this site is wrong. How do I fix it?
Report it and we will re-read the source. Corrections take priority over the weekly refresh. Rink staff are welcome to send changes directly.
Is this an official site for any of these rinks?
No. It is an independent index with no affiliation with, endorsement from, or partnership with any rink or chain listed. Every listing links out to the rink’s own website, which is always the final word.
